Terms and conditions of sale and repair

Version of 28 October 2026. These terms apply to orders placed on ifixyourtech.com; they are accepted at the time of payment.

1. Scope

1.1 These terms govern the diagnosis, repair (replacement of screens, batteries and charging ports, electronic repair and micro-soldering on motherboards) and data recovery services provided by iFixYourTech Sàrl, entered in the commercial register of the Canton of Vaud, UID CHE-191.972.587, Chemin des Roches 14B, 1803 Chardonne, Switzerland, contact@ifixyourtech.com (hereinafter ‘the workshop’), to its private and business customers (hereinafter ‘the customer’).

1.2 They apply to any order placed on the ifixyourtech.com website or agreed in writing with the workshop. The customer accepts them by ticking the box provided for this purpose at the time of payment.

2. Customer account

2.1 The customer may order without opening an account, using their e-mail address. On payment, the order is linked to the account for that address, which is opened if necessary; signing in is done with a one-time code sent to that address; there is no password.

2.2 The customer provides accurate contact details, in particular their return address in Switzerland, and keeps them up to date from their account. They may delete their account at any time; the data needed for orders in progress and for accounting obligations is kept for the statutory period.

3. Prices

3.1 Prices are stated in Swiss francs, per device model and per repair, on the model’s page. iFixYourTech Sàrl is not subject to VAT.

3.2 The price includes the part, labour, testing and insured return shipping of the device by post within Switzerland. Sending the device to the workshop (outward shipment) is at the customer’s expense.

3.3 Two ranges of parts may be offered for the same screen: the Standard range, a compatible part of standard quality, and the Premium range, a new high-end compatible part (for example an OLED screen), with image quality close to that of the factory-fitted screen. The parts used are compatible parts, not parts from the device manufacturer, unless otherwise stated on the model page or in the quote. The range chosen is shown on the order.

3.4 iPhone: after the screen or battery has been replaced outside Apple’s network, iOS reports the part as ‘unknown’ or ‘not genuine’ (Settings, General, About) and may no longer show the battery health. The device works normally. This behaviour, specific to Apple’s system, is not a defect in the repair; a reminder of this appears on the page of each iPhone.

3.5 The applicable price is the one displayed at the time of ordering. It is recalculated and confirmed by the workshop at the time of payment.

4. Ordering and payment

4.1 The customer chooses their device, model and repair, confirms their basket, checks the summary (repairs, prices, contact details, return address), accepts these terms by ticking the box provided, then places the order and pays online. The contract is concluded upon confirmation of payment, evidenced without delay by an e-mail from the workshop stating the order number, the repairs, the prices, the version of the terms accepted and the address to which the device is to be sent. An order whose payment does not go through is not concluded. An order entered by the workshop for the customer and not paid within 48 hours expires.

4.2 Payment is made online when ordering, by card, TWINT or invoice payable within 30 days via Klarna, depending on the methods offered at the time of payment. Payment is processed by the service provider Stripe; the invoice payable within 30 days is governed by Klarna’s terms, which the customer accepts separately.

4.3 Cancellation: the customer may cancel their order free of charge, by e-mail or from their account, as long as the workshop has not received the device; they are then refunded in full. An order whose device is not received within 30 days is cancelled and refunded automatically. Once the device has been received, the order can no longer be cancelled, subject to a new quote being declined (clause 7.1). Swiss law does not provide for a general right of withdrawal for online purchases: this option to cancel is a commercial commitment of the workshop.

5. Sending the device

5.1 After ordering, the customer packs the device carefully (rigid packaging and padding), encloses the accompanying slip received by e-mail and sends it to the address stated. The outward shipment is at the customer’s risk; registered and insured post is recommended.

5.2 The workshop records and photographs the condition of the device on receipt. Any visible transport damage is reported to the customer before any work is carried out.

5.3 Before sending, the customer removes SIM and memory cards, cases and accessories. The workshop is not responsible for enclosed items that are not needed for the repair.

5.4 Damaged battery: a device whose battery is swollen, punctured or deformed, has overheated abnormally or has been exposed to water must not be sent by post (damaged lithium batteries are excluded from postal transport). The customer contacts the workshop before sending anything to agree on a solution. On the parcel and the shipping documents, the contents are described accurately (for example ‘mobile phone’).

6. Diagnosis

6.1 When the fault is unknown or concerns the motherboard, the customer orders a diagnosis: CHF 29 for a smartphone or tablet, CHF 49 for a computer. The workshop then draws up a written quote, sent by e-mail.

6.2 If the customer accepts the quote and the repair is carried out, the cost of the diagnosis is deducted from the price of the repair. If they decline it, the diagnosis remains payable and the device is returned to them in its current state, return shipping included.

6.3 If the customer has not replied within 30 days of the quote being sent, the device is returned to them in its current state.

7. Repair

7.1 No work other than the work ordered is undertaken without the customer’s express consent. If the workshop finds a fault that is different from, or more serious than, the one covered by the order, or that additional work is necessary, it sends the customer a reasoned additional quote by e-mail, which the customer accepts or declines online using the personal link received, within 14 days. Acceptance constitutes an order for the additional work at the price stated, payable before the device is sent back. If the customer declines the quote or does not reply within this period, the workshop carries out the repair ordered if it remains possible without this work; otherwise, the device is returned to them and the price paid is refunded, less the cost of the diagnosis.

7.2 The workshop uses appropriate means and expertise (an obligation of means, not of result). The customer is informed that devices already opened or repaired by a third party, or showing traces of oxidation, carry an increased risk, including of the fault worsening during the work; the workshop points this out in its quote when it observes it.

7.3 Repair not possible: if the repair is unsuccessful, the customer is refunded the price paid, less the cost of the diagnosis (CHF 29 or CHF 49), and the device is returned to them, return shipping included.

7.4 The turnaround times shown (for example ‘3 to 5 working days’) run from receipt of the device. They are indicative; the workshop does not offer an express service. Follow-up is by e-mail, with a reply as a rule within 2 to 3 working days.

8. Personal data and data on the device

8.1 The customer backs up their data before sending the device whenever possible. The workshop is not responsible for the data on the device, subject to clause 11.

8.2 The workshop accesses the data on the device only to the extent strictly necessary for the service (functional testing, or data recovery when it has been ordered). It does not view, copy or keep any data beyond this.

8.3 The customer’s data (account, contact details, orders, correspondence) is processed in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), to carry out orders and fulfil legal obligations; on the website, unless the customer rejects this, certain data is also transmitted to Meta and to Google, in hashed form, for advertising measurement and targeting. Details (service providers, storage locations, retention periods, how to reject) are given on the website’s ‘Legal notice and privacy’ page. The customer exercises their rights of access, rectification and erasure from their account or by writing to contact@ifixyourtech.com.

9. Data recovery

9.1 Data recovery is an obligation of means, charged on a no data, no fee basis: nothing is charged, apart from the diagnosis, if no usable data is recovered.

9.2 The recovered data is handed over, at the customer’s choice: via a secure download link, free of charge up to 100 GB and valid for 30 days; on a storage medium provided by the customer and enclosed with the shipment; or on a storage medium provided by the workshop, charged at the retail price stated in the quote (for example a 64 GB USB stick or a 1 TB external SSD). The workshop’s working copy is securely erased 30 days after handover, a period during which the customer checks their data.

10. Warranty

10.1 12-month commercial warranty: the workshop guarantees the work carried out (parts replaced and soldering performed) for 12 months from the date the device is returned to the customer. It covers the free repair of the same fault, shipping included, or, if this is not possible, a refund of the price of the work, simply on request and without the customer having to prove the cause of the defect.

10.2 This commercial warranty is in addition to the customer’s statutory rights in the event of a defect in the work (contract for work, Art. 367 ff. of the Swiss Code of Obligations, CO; these rights become time-barred two years after the device is returned to the customer, Art. 371 CO). It does not restrict them.

10.3 Battery: loss of capacity due to charge cycles is normal wear and not a defect. However, a battery replaced by the workshop whose maximum capacity falls below 80% within 12 months of the device being returned to the customer is considered defective and replaced free of charge, shipping included.

10.4 The following are excluded from the commercial warranty: impacts, drops and new liquid damage; the opening or repair of the device by a third party after the work; faults unrelated to the work; the progression of corrosion after earlier liquid damage, unless otherwise agreed in writing in the quote; the iOS messages described in clause 3.4.

11. Liability

11.1 In the event of damage to the device while it is in the workshop’s care, the workshop’s liability is limited to the market value of the device at the time of the damage, that is, the price of an equivalent second-hand device, except in cases of unlawful intent or gross negligence, for which no limit applies (Art. 100 CO).

11.2 Subject to the same reservation, and provided that the customer has been asked to back up their data (clause 8.1), the workshop is not liable for loss of data or for indirect damage (business interruption, loss of profit) in the event of slight negligence.

12. Unclaimed devices

12.1 If a device cannot be returned (incorrect address, delivery refused or not collected), the workshop sends the customer three reminders (by e-mail, then by text message or letter) over a period of 6 months. If there is no reply after this period, the workshop may, in accordance with Art. 92 and 93 CO, have the device recycled or sold after erasing its data; any proceeds of the sale, less costs, remain at the customer’s disposal.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

13.1 Swiss law applies.

13.2 The place of jurisdiction is the workshop’s registered office, subject to mandatory places of jurisdiction, in particular that of the domicile of a customer who is a consumer (Art. 32 of the Swiss Civil Procedure Code, CPC).

13.3 Languages: These terms are written in French; translations are provided for information. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
