Trademarks
iPhone, iPad, MacBook and iOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.; Galaxy is a trademark of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.; Pixel is a trademark of Google LLC. These names are used solely to identify the devices we repair. iFixYourTech is an independent repair workshop: it is not authorised by, affiliated with or sponsored by these manufacturers, and its repairs are not manufacturer repairs.
Hosting
The website is a static site hosted by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., United States) and delivered through the network of Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which also provides protection against attacks and the audience measurement described below.
Personal data
The controller is iFixYourTech Sàrl. We apply the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and tell you here, for each use, which data is processed and how you can reject it.
This website displays no advertising and contains no social media buttons. It uses the Meta pixel to measure and target our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and the Google tag (Google Analytics) to measure traffic to the website and our ads on Google: see your choices below, with the buttons to reject them. The links to our Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn pages are simple links; once there, the privacy rules of those networks apply. The website sets the following cookies:
cf_clearance, set by Cloudflare to distinguish visitors from malicious bots and protect the website (lasting up to one year, with no advertising use and no cross-site tracking);session, only if you sign in to your account (30 days at most, deleted when you sign out);_fbp, set by the Meta pixel unless you have rejected it: a random identifier of your browser, which allows Meta to recognise your successive visits (90 days);_fbc, only if you arrive on the website from one of our ads: identifies that click in order to measure its effect (90 days);_gaand_ga_…, set by Google Analytics unless you reject it: a random identifier of your browser and the state of the visit, to count visitors and their successive visits (13 months).
As long as you are not signed in, your basket stays in your browser (local storage), not with us.
If you are signed in and go as far as the order summary, it is saved in your account, and deleted
with it. The Meta pixel also keeps in this local storage the page you came from
(keys lastExternalReferrer and lastExternalReferrerTime); the reject button below deletes
them.
The data processed is as follows:
- Technical logs. As with any website, the IP address, the browser and the page requested pass through Cloudflare and GitHub, which process them to deliver the pages and protect the website. We do not use these logs to identify visitors. Error messages from our API (for example a failed e-mail delivery, with the order number or address concerned) are kept by Cloudflare for 7 days at most, to diagnose faults.
- Audience measurement and error reports. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits and measures page speed in aggregate form, without cookies and without cross-site tracking. We only see overall statistics from it (number of visits, page views, countries, loading times). The browser may also send Cloudflare anonymous network error reports (Network Error Logging), used for the reliability of the service.
- Meta pixel (advertising measurement and targeting). Unless you reject it, your browser
loads Meta’s pixel, which transmits to Meta:
- the pages you view on this website, with their information (title, description) and the buttons you click;
- the following steps, with the repair, the amount and the currency: viewing a model, adding to the basket, starting checkout, summary, reaching the payment step, creating an account, clicking on our e-mail address;
- through automatic advanced matching, the information you enter in our forms: e-mail address, first name, last name, telephone, town, postcode and country. It is converted in your browser into a hash (an encrypted SHA-256 fingerprint) before being sent, and Meta uses it to recognise the corresponding Facebook or Instagram account;
- your IP address, information about your browser and your device, and the identifiers of the
_fbpand_fbccookies.
Meta also receives these same events through a server connection that it hosts (Conversions API enabled by Meta), which duplicates them to make the measurement more reliable. It only reproduces what the pixel sends: if you reject the pixel, it transmits nothing either.
We use this data to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, to show it to people who are likely to be interested, in particular people who have visited our website, and to build advertising audiences (including lookalike audiences created by Meta). We only see statistics and audiences from it, never your data in plain text. Meta also uses it in accordance with its own privacy policy. For the collection and transmission of this data, we are joint controllers with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd; Meta alone is responsible for its subsequent use.
- Google Analytics (measurement and advertising). Unless you reject it, your
browser loads the Google tag, which transmits to Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) and to
Google LLC (United States):
- the pages you view, the page you came from, scrolling, clicks to other websites and interactions with forms (without their content);
- the same steps as for Meta (viewing a model, adding to the basket, starting checkout, summary, payment step, creating an account, clicking on our e-mail address), with the repair, the amount and the currency;
- if you are signed in or enter your contact details, your e-mail address, your telephone number, your first and last name and your address, converted in your browser into a hash (an encrypted SHA-256 fingerprint) before sending (‘enhanced conversions’), to link an order to an ad that was seen;
- information about your browser and your device, your approximate location (derived from the IP address, which Google Analytics does not store) and the identifiers of the cookies described above.
We use this data to understand the traffic to the website and where visits come from, and to measure and optimise our Google ads. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Google signals is enabled: for visitors signed in to a Google account with ad personalisation enabled, Google may associate the visit with that account in order to produce statistics across several devices; we only see aggregated figures from it. Personalised advertising (showing you our ads on Google’s services and on other websites based on your visit, remarketing lists, audiences) is only enabled with your consent, given in the banner or further down, and can be withdrawn at any time. For Google Analytics, Google acts as our processor; for advertising, Google also processes this data as a controller, in accordance with its privacy policy and the page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Customer account. If you create an account, or if it is opened when you pay for an order or when the workshop enters an order for you, we record your e-mail address, your last name, first name, telephone number and return address, the language of your e-mails, your saved basket. This data is used to process your repair orders and to contact you about them; unless you reject it, the data you enter is also transmitted to Meta and to Google in hashed form, as described above. It is stored in a Cloudflare database located in the European Union. Sign-in codes are sent to you from our Microsoft 365 mailbox (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd). Only a cryptographic fingerprint (hash) of the code and of the session is kept; codes expire after 10 minutes. An address for which a code is requested without an account being created is erased no later than 24 hours after the request. For protection against abuse, the IP address and the e-mail address of each code request are kept for 25 hours at most. The technical backups of the database (Cloudflare’s restore history) keep deleted data for 30 days at most. You can change your data or delete your account at any time from ‘My account’; an account that has not been used for 24 months is deleted automatically.
- Orders. If you place an order, a copy of your contact details, the repairs ordered, the prices, the date, the language of your e-mails and the version of the terms and conditions accepted is recorded with the order. It is used to carry out the repair and to fulfil our accounting obligations: it is kept for 10 years from the end of the financial year (Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations, CO), even if you delete your account, from which it is then detached. An order that expired or was cancelled without being paid is erased 30 days after it was created. The follow-up e-mails (acknowledgement of receipt, confirmation and accompanying slip, device received, return shipment, cancellation, additional quote, reminders, messages from the workshop) are sent from our Microsoft 365 mailbox; the date, type and subject of each e-mail sent are recorded with the order. The workshop’s actions on an order or an account (change of status, modification, message, deletion) are recorded in a log of the workshop’s actions, kept for 12 months. A monthly backup of the orders (without the customer accounts) is sent to this mailbox, and a copy is kept with Cloudflare in the European Union; each backup is erased one year after it was created, together with the orders it contains, including any erased from the database in the meantime.
- Payment. Online payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (Ireland). You enter your payment details (for example your card number) directly on Stripe’s payment page, which receives them; we neither see nor keep card numbers. We send Stripe your e-mail address, the order number, the repairs and their prices; Stripe returns to us the status of the payment, its amount and its references, which are recorded with the order. Stripe also processes this data for its own purposes (fraud prevention, legal obligations), in accordance with its privacy policy. The invoice payable within 30 days is handled by Klarna, which receives the data it needs and processes it in accordance with its own terms and privacy policy.
- Repair tracking. On receipt, we photograph your device (condition, findings before the repair). These photos are stored with Cloudflare in the European Union, visible only to the workshop, attached to a message we send you where useful, and deleted 2 years after the order. If additional work is needed, the additional quote, your reply (acceptance or refusal, with its date) and our exchanges are recorded with the order and kept in the same way as the order.
- Messages. If you write to us, we use your e-mail address and the content of your message solely to reply to you, and we keep them for as long as necessary to follow up your request.
As Cloudflare, GitHub, Microsoft and Stripe, as well as Meta and Google, are established in or controlled from the United States, this data may be processed there. These providers have undertaken to comply with an adequate level of protection, in particular under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Your choices: Meta and Google
The Meta pixel and the Google tag are loaded by default. You can reject them here: your choice is
stored in your browser (local storage, key ifyt-pixel, no cookie), their cookies are deleted,
and neither of them is loaded on this website any more, advanced matching and enhanced conversions
included: nothing more is transmitted to Meta or to Google from this website. The choice applies
to this browser and this device, and disappears if you clear the website’s data. If your browser
sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection.
The Meta pixel and the Google tag only work with JavaScript: if JavaScript is disabled, they are not loaded.
Personalised advertising from Google
Google only personalises our ads based on your visit (remarketing, audiences) if you accept: in
the banner shown on your first visit, or here. Your choice is stored in your browser (key
ifyt-pub-google) and you can change it at any time. In your Google account,
My Ad Center also lets you adjust ad personalisation.
This setting requires JavaScript.
Meta
Data already transmitted remains with Meta, subject to its rules: deleting your account with us does not erase it. In your Facebook or Instagram account (Accounts Centre), you can view and disconnect your ‘activity off Meta technologies’ and adjust your ad preferences. You can also block third-party cookies in your browser.
Your rights
You can at any time ask which data about you we process, obtain a copy of it (right to data portability), and have it corrected or deleted, by writing to contact@ifixyourtech.com. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

This privacy policy is written in French; translations are provided for information. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
